Review edited to reflect recent change in apartment management and maintenance staff. It used to be great and deserving of a great rating. Now the staff matches the grade of the property. Property manager spends nights memorizing excerpts from the lease agreement like the Bible but selectively enforces within close proximity of the leasing office but doesn't understand their own responsibilities under Utah state law. Will walk past literal garbage to confiscate tenant's property and then lecture you about keeping the common areas clean.
Luxury apartments... not at all, coming from someone who has built real luxury projects for discerning and picky customers. They're the absolutely cheapest grade stuff as far as fixtures, hardware, appliances, HVAC equipment, etc. go. Take a tour and sit on the toilet seats, but hold on, you don't even have to weigh 100 lbs for the seat to bow in and feel like you're going to fall in the toilet. Cheap garbage. Stair handrails are bowed. Overpainting from walls to hardware is abundant, as if masking isn't a thing. Luxury is in the details, and it looks like a troupe of monkeys built the place.
The carpet is absolutely awful. Looked new when we moved in. We don't wear shoes in the house and clean religiously (robo vac, stick vac for quick pickups and Kirby for deep cleaning. We even have a commercial grade carpet extractor), and it's completely matted. Definitely bottom tier stuff that tenants get dinged for when they move out despite all efforts to maintain it. Carpet guys are in the complex full time, changing it out, so we figure they do it every time there's a change of tenants replacing garbage with more garbage.
They'll come in periodically to change your bargain bin air filter that allows your duct work to get filled with all kinds of nasty buildup that blows out the vents and marks up the ceiling, change the smoke alarm batteries and snoop around. Previous properties allowed me to do that myself like a big boy. And usually smoke alarm batteries get changed when they start making that awful brain piercing noise, or is that just me?
